Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's medical records will be revealed to the press Monday and his personal physicians are to report on his condition, following the PM's mild stroke last week. Sharon's doctors are expected to speak to reporters about the possibility that the prime minister may need to undergo cardiac catheterization. During the press conference, the physicians will also reveal the results of the various tests Sharon underwent while he was hospitalized.

Dr. Shlomo Segev of the Sheba Medical Center, along with Professor Bolek Goldman, Sharon's personal doctor, and a physician at the Hadassah Ein Kerem medical center will speak at the conference. The event is set to be held at the prime minister's office in Jerusalem, and journalists will not be allowed to videotape or record the meeting. However, sources at Sharon's office said that all relevant medical details, as well as the procedures the PM has endured or is expected to go through, will be exposed in full. "The prime minister wants to report to the public of his physical state, in order to clarify that last week's stroke has caused no damage," an associate close to Sharon explained. Meanwhile, Sharon's aides have assured they are keeping a close eye on his diet, and that they have eased his schedule to remove unnecessary pressures.

The PM's associates are also pleased with recent opinion polls showing that Sharon's medical condition has not diminished support for him. "Our assumption has proven correct - the stroke only improved Kadima's place in the surveys. The Israeli public has shown empathy for the prime minister," Sharon's supporters said, reports the AP.
