The Russian-born Glebova, a model and motivational speaker from Toronto, was in this Caribbean nation to crown Miss Dominican Republic 2006. The pageant was to be held on Sunday.
"Inside of me, there is something that draws me toward business all the time and I will try to follow that path in my future," Glebova told reporters after her arrival on Friday.
Glebova said she planned to attend a dinner to benefit orphans with AIDS. She has previously said that she would use the attention brought by her title to raise awareness and money for the battle against &to=http://english.pravda.ru/science/19/94/377/16519_AIDS.html' target=_blank>AIDS.
Glebova beat out Miss Puerto Rico Cynthia Olavarria to win the crown in May. The Dominican Republic's Renate Sone took third place, reports AP.
