The National Movement - Democrats, the ruling party led by President Mikhail Saakashvili, are leading after the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia has counted about 30% of the ballots.
The CEC press service told Novosti-Georgia that as of 10 a.m. on March 30, the computer center had counted 462,912 ballots from 826 polling stations, or about 30%.
According to the preliminary data, the National Movement - Democrats party has 72.99% of the vote and the Right Wing Opposition: New Industrialists Bloc, led by David Gamkrelidze and Gogi Topadze, has 7.36%.
Other parties have not cleared the necessary 7% hurdle yet. In particular, the Labor Party of Georgia, led by Shalva Natelashvili, has 5.36% of the vote, the Tavisupleba movement, led by Konstantin Gamsakhurdia, has 4.61%, the NDP - Traditionalists bloc, led by Akaky Asatiani and Bachuki Kardava, has 2.68% and the Ertoba bloc, led by Dzhumber Patiashvili has 2.59%.
Every other party has less that 1% of the vote. The Union of Democratic Revival, which is led by Aslan Abashidze, the leader of Adzharia, has only 0.85% of the vote.
Fifteen percent of the constituents voted "against all."
"According to the preliminary data of the Central Election Commission, 1,505,881 people voted in the parliamentary elections in Georgia on March 28. These data were received from 2,838 polling stations," CEC head Zurab Chiaberashvili told reporters.
