About 100 people in the building threaten to set themselves on fire in the event the building is stormed
Representatives of the People's Militia liberated the building of the Supreme Court in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, having ousted the followers of the candidates, who had lost the parliamentary elections in the republic in March of the current year. The People's Militia of Kyrgyzstan was organized on May 25th on the initiative of the several Kyrgyz public figures to maintain law and order in the capital, Interfax reports.
No one was injured during the storming of the Supreme Court in Bishkek, spokespeople for law-enforcement authorities said. The building has been completely freed by now.
About 300 members of a massive rally arrived to the building of the Supreme Court in the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek on Wednesday morning. The people stated that they were representing the Kyrgyz nation and demanded the work of the Supreme Court should be resumed.
The assaulters attempted to storm the Supreme Court, but the people inside the building started throwing stones in the assaulters and poured petrol on them, making the crowd panic and run about. About 100 people that were holding the building, threatened to set bottles of petrol on fire.
Over a hundred of protesters finally made their way in the building later. About 20 unarmed police officers tried to block the entrance in the building at first, but they could not resist the crowd and were forced to leave.
The followers of the candidates, who lost the parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan, seized the building of the Kyrgyz Supreme Court in Bishkek on April 22nd. The protesters have been holding the building for 45 days, demanding the resignation of the Supreme Court's judiciary and chairman. The court has not been able to fulfill its functions since the attack; hundreds of criminal, civil and economic cases have been saved in the court, Itar-Tass reports.
Judges said that they had repeatedly tried to convince the people to leave the building of the Supreme Court, but the persuasion brought no results, Newsru reports.
