Russian Bears Motorsport team is getting ready to take part in the coming round of World Touring Car Championship that is to take place on May 16-18 in Spain. Russians are to compete on 2 Lada 1106 cars. The first tests of these vehicles took place in Holland on Zandvoort highway. They were ridden by Viktor Shapovalov and Yaaap Van Lagen.

The Beijing Olympic flame arrived in Russia's second biggest city early Friday morning to start the third leg of an unprecedented global torch relay. The Olympic flame, carried in a specially-designed lantern, was flied into St. Petersburg onboard a chartered plane from Turkey's largest city Istanbul.

The Olympic torch has been re-lit at an elaborate ceremony in Beijing that included President Hu Jintao, signaling the start of a round-the-world torch relay. Hu's participation shows the importance China place on the Olympics, which start August 8, to show a confident, strong China to the world.
