Hugh Grant is the savior with his wit and perfect delivery, but the script does not use him enough content to rehash his role in the first film, and it is the same with the brilliant Colin Firth, pushed to often into the fringes, reports Times of India.
The film has been described as "even better than the original", which went on to earn almost Ј170million at the box office worldwide after its release in 2001, reports This is London.
According to Boston Herald, the 35-year-old actress joined co-stars Hugh Grant and Colin Firth for yesterday's debut of "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" in London. The sequel to the smash 2001 hit, "Bridget Jones' Diary," opens Friday.
Jones told Hello magazine she bulked up on a diet of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, ice cream and Kit-Kats for five months to get in shape to reprise her role as the chain-smoking 30something.
"We have a real obsession with wanting to be very thin these days and I think it sends a very negative message. Believe me, I didn't find that I was any less happy than I was being thin, when I had that extra weight," she told the magazine.
But when the Oscar-winning actress was asked why she dieted the extra weight off, she replied: "There were some who said "You might consider keeping some of that!" I have to say I agreed with them, but that's not my natural shape."
