Jessica Simpson's plans for world domination continue apace: The reality pop diva will play countrified hottie Daisy Duke in the big-screen remake of "The Dukes of Hazzard."
You are perhaps too distracted by the image of Simpson in short shorts to care, but the Duke boys will be played by Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville, writes Seattle Post.
The star power she has attained through her hit &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/main/18/90/362/486_mtv.html' target=_blank>MTV reality show Newlyweds couldn't have hurt Simpson's chances, since apart from a few guest appearances on That '70s Show, she has little to no formal acting experience.
The film is based on the television series which centered on the erratic driving habits of the Duke cousins behind the wheel of their 1969 Dodge, the General Lee. The show ran from 1979 to 1985 on CBS and consistently ranked number one in its time slot.
Dukes is reportedly set to begin production in November, according to &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/cis/2002/04/29/28093.html ' target=_blank> Warner Brothers Studios .
The film's not the only project on Simpson's fall schedule, says E! Online News.
