Boris Alyoshin's talks in Brazil will focus on bilateral trade and economic relations

The inter-governmental Russian-Brazilian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation with the participation of Russian Vice-Premier Boris Alyoshin will gather for its session on February 17-21 in Brazil.

As RIA Novosti learned from Alina Radchenko, adviser to the Vice-Premier, in Brazil the Russian Vice-Premier and co-chairman of the Commission from the Brazilian side, Secretary-General of Brazil's Foreign Ministry Samuel Pinheiro Guimaraes will discuss a wide range of issues of mutual cooperation.

Also discussed will be issues of Russia's accession to the World Trade Organization, Radchenko said.

The session's agenda will include the establishment of special quotas of supplies of Brazilian meat to Russia , as well as trade in agricultural produce such as sugar, spirits, soy beans, maize and fruit.

Also discussed at the session will be cooperation in the field of information technologies, inter-bank sector, in the spheres of taxes and tourism.

Great attention will also be paid to cooperation projects in the energy sector, including gas and peaceful uses of nuclear technologies.

The parties will also discuss the supplies of gas-turbine installations, Radchenko said.

She said that Alyoshin and Pinheiro Guimaraes planned to discuss a wide range of questions pertaining to cooperation in space. Great attention will be devoted to issues of military-technical cooperation, but this bloc of issues will be closed for the press, said the advisor to the Vice-Premier.
