Russian patrol fighter planes MIG-29 intercepted a light aeroplane which intruded the air space of Russia from the territory of Mongolia, chief of the press service of the Russian Air Force, Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky told RIA Novosti.
In his words the border transgression was registered 240km south of the city of Chita. "The plane flew from the territory of Mongolia without any requests and identification marks, the trangressor-plane did not respond to air traffic controllers' requests.
The fighter patrol planes MIG-29 serving with the Russian Air Force were taken off and at 7.01a.m. , Moscow time, made the trangsressor plane land in the Chita Airport, he said.
At present the plane is being guarded and the competent bodies are conducting investigation, Drobyshevsky added.
